I
hope this holiday finds you happy and healthy.
This has been such an exciting year with the
election of Barack Obama as our next president.
I found myself totally immersed in the campaign
(almost to the point of obsession) and was
so elated with the outcome! I was also relieved
when the campaign was over so my life could
once again “get back to normal” (whatever
that means!).
This has been another year of change for me.
As I began to work more closely with Judy
Whitson and the Foundation for Inner Peace,
publishers of A Course in Miracles, I realized
that I had to let go of many of my other activities
and clients, including my involvement with
Circle Connections and my production of Internet
radio broadcasts. This freed up my time to
work more closely with Judy who decided she
wanted us to completely redevelop and maintain
the ACIM.org website and to create a new online
store. This was a huge project that took almost
9 months to complete. We launched the new
site on Oct. 22! Check it out at www.acim.org.
Judy has also contracted with me to head up
a creative team to produce a DVD on the spiritual
journey of John Fetzer (founder of the Fetzer
Institute) that is now in progress and shortly
we will begin work on a new ACIM Archival
site. All wonderfully gratifying work!
Meanwhile, Victor continues his work on the
development of an innovative philanthropy
website for a client and to work on a unique
social networking software he has been developing
in his not-so-spare time.
We also
took time to do quite a lot of traveling
this year including a few road trips. In June
we drove up to Portland for a technology conference
that Victor was attending. Along the way we
stopped overnight in Ashland and visited with
friends, and on the way back we stopped to
explore the awe-inspiring Redwoods National
Park followed by a drive along the gorgeous
California coast. We then headed to Mt. Shasta
for dinner. The diverse beauty of California
never ceases to amaze me. While Victor was
attending the conference in Portland, I hung
out in the hotel catching up on my reading
and in the evenings we explored Portland’s
great restaurants -- all-in-all a very relaxing
trip. In September we took another road trip
down to Irvine with a friend for another technology
conference. We stayed at a beautiful motel
right on the ocean and I spent 3 lovely days
reading, relaxing and taking in the ocean
air. On the last day we met up with my daughter,
Kris, and had a great time with her and the
kids. In August we flew to Washington, DC
for a day of sight-seeing before we drove
down to Virginia Beach to visit Victor’s
daughter, Echo, and family. We love spending
time with them and seeing how Kai and Kenna
have grown! In October we flew down to San
Diego for yet another tech conference and
again I had a wonderful time reading and relaxing
while Victor did his thing.
Right
before our August DC trip, we had a mini
family reunion with my kids here in California.
Liz and her boys flew in from Austin, Greg
and his new girlfriend, Cynda, flew in from
Fort Wayne, and Kris and her boys drove up
from Southern California. It’s the first
time all three of my kids have been together
in several years and we all loved meeting
Cynda.
I’m not sending you lots
of photos this year as I have in the past.
I’ve developed
a new passion for photography and have created
a new photography section on my site that
I’d love for you to visit. At the following
link you will find lots of photos I’ve
taken this year including photos from our
various trips: http://www.carolhansengrey.com/portfolio/photography.html
and at this
link you'll find recent photos
of our kids and grandkids that I hope you
will enjoy: http://www.carolhansengrey.com/portfolio/photography/family/misc.html
