This
has been an interesting and productive year
for us. I made a New Year’s Resolution
this year that I would get up each morning
at 5AM and work for at least two hours on
a book I that had been wanting to write for
the past 3 years! I was amazed at how quickly
I finished the book by simply devoting those
early morning hours to the project. I worked
with a graphic designer friend to design the
cover and by April 12 the book was off to
the printer! Once that task was done Victor
and I went to work on creating the website
to support the book. I invite you to check
it out at: SimpleHealingTools.com. We also
created a companion website for my speaking
engagements at PersonalEmpowermentPath.com.
Now I’m learning as much as I can about
marketing -- it continues to be quite a journey.
I’ve been doing a few workshops in the
Bay Area and will be looking to schedule some
more in 2010.
After two years, Victor
recently completed work on an innovative
web-based philanthropy project that he’d been contracted to develop.
You can check it out at doGoodr.org. Now he
is putting his energy into his own web-based
project that he has had on the drawing board
for a couple of years. He’s using my
technique of getting up early and devoting
the first few hours of the day exclusively
to moving the project forward. You’ll
be hearing more about that in the near future!
In the meantime we continue
to work with Judy & William
(Whit) Whitson of the Foundation for Inner
Peace. On Nov. 11th we launched a new ACIM-Archives.org website complete with audio and video that
tells the previously unpublished story of
the history of A Course in Miracles. It was
(and continues to be) quite an undertaking.
(Judy tells me we have about 1/10th of the
material up right now!) Victor and I have
been students of A Course
in Miracles for
over 12 years and it is a true joy to be working
with them on this project.
We did make time to do
a little traveling this year. In May
we flew to Austin and visited my daughter
Liz and her family in Dripping Springs,
TX. A week after our return we traveled
to the Omega Institute in Rhinebeck, NY for
a women’s conference. I attended the
conference while Victor created his own reading
and writing retreat. In July we took a second
honeymoon to Pacific Grove for our anniversary
(15 years of being together and 10 years of
marriage). We stayed at the Seven Gables Bed & Breakfast
right on the ocean — it was spectacular.
In July Victor’s daughter and her family
came from Virginia Beach to visit us for a
week. It was great to spend some quality time
with them! In August and at Thanksgiving,
Kris and her family came up from Southern
California for a visit. The grandkids are
growing up so fast.
I’ve developed
a new hobby late in life. I have taken
up beading! It all started because I
wanted some earrings to go with a few
necklaces that I had. So I took a couple
of classes and I was hooked! I set up
my beading area right next to my desk,
so when I want to take a break from working
on the computer, I just swivel my chair and
I can work on a beading project. I’m
still a real novice, but I love creating earrings
and necklaces to match my outfits. I’m
also doing something really good for my body.
In June, I joined a gym with a friend and
work out 3 days a week after which we go to
the pool for water aerobics. The gym is about
half a mile from my house, so it’s really
convenient. Weather permitting, Victor and
I still play tennis 3 days a week — something
we’ve
been doing since April of 2001! So at age 65,
I’m
getting more exercise now than I have in my
entire life! It feels good.
We send you good wishes
for a joyful holiday and
a new year filled with
hope, love & peace!
